I have worn many hats as an educator. I have taught everything from arts and crafts to 3 and 4 yr. old children, been a teacher’s assistant, taught 3rd and 4th grade for many years, developed and led a summer arts intensive program for several years, and most recently taught Design Studio for 3rd-5th grade students. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Florida International University and a Masters in Art Education from The University of Florida. The main focus of my master's thesis was the importance of integrating the arts throughout the curriculum and project-based learning. I believe in the power of project-based learning and the power of independence and engagement that can be achieved. I have found that the most important thing to me about teaching is what I can learn from the children every day.
